Kaduna State is a major agricultural powerhouse and widely regarded as the food basket of Northern Nigeria. It excels in producing staple crops such as maize, millet, sorghum, groundnut, ginger, and soybeans, and leads national grape production with about 85% of output.
Agriculture drives Kaduna’s economy, contributing 42–43% of its GDP and employing 60–77% of the workforce. By 2025, Kaduna stands as a leading hub for crop production and agro-industrialisation in the North, with ongoing investments in inputs, infrastructure, and value chains to enhance food security and inclusive growth.
Strategically, Kaduna serves as a gateway between North and South, supported by robust infrastructure including hotels, event halls, roads, railways, and air links. Known as a symbol of unity, learning, and diversity, it provides the ideal platform for a national dialogue on communication, food security, and nation-building.

Q: What is the theme of NPRW 2026?
“Food Security: From Policy Paper to Public Plate – The Imperatives of Public Relations.”
Recent UN and humanitarian analyses show that millions of Nigerians are facing an acute food shortage that is already eroding health, livelihoods, and social stability. Addressing this scale of need demands more than policy papers; it requires urgent, effective, and sustainable solutions, with communication at the centre of those solutions.
NPRW 2026 Kaduna will move the conversation from diagnosis to delivery by exploring how strategic public relations builds trust, coordinates action across government, humanitarian, and private actors, and motivates citizen behaviour change so agricultural policy translates into secure, nutritious food on Nigerian plates.
Key Focus Areas:
• Clear and effective crisis messaging.
• Localised behaviour-change communication campaigns.
• Credible transparency frameworks for institutions.
• Media partnerships that sustain public awareness.
• Communication-led interventions that connect policy to real community outcomes.
• NPRW 2026 will spotlight communication models that strengthen food systems, sustain public trust, and ensure that policy becomes practice.
Q: Why Boldly Public Relations?
We embrace this message because we are bold, deliberate, intentional, and unapologetic about our profession. Public relations is an essential function, and NPRW is leading the charge for its full recognition. The tagline #BoldlyPublicRelations reflects this mission.
